The furniture and design fair Maison & Objet takes place this week January 19-23 in Paris. The fair happens twice a year with an emphasis on home decor, design and lifestyle products and attracts over 85,000 visitors and 600 exhibitors. The event, founded in 1995, saw tremendous growth last year with attendance up 21% strengthed in part by new appeal to Russian and Brazilian visitors. US visitors make up about 12% of the audience.

Maison & Objet is organized into three departments. The MAISON section is focused on interiors, from furniture, small decor, lighting, fragrances, and home linens. The OBJET section is focused on products of all shapes and sizes from cookware, housewares, stationery, gifts, and accessories. The INFLUENCES section acts as a “temple of design” with an emphasis on luxury lifestyle products from around the world.
